Appointment of Mr. Charles Madi as Honorary Consul-General of Japan to The Gambia

On Friday 22 October, 2021 His Excellency Mr. ARAI Tatsuo delivered the Appointment Letter of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan on the presence of Honorable Dr. Mamadou TANGARA, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of The Gambia. On August 1, 2021, Mr. Charles Madi, General Manager of Shyben Madi and Sons, was appointed by the Government of Japan as Honorary Consul - General of Japan in Banjul. In his capacity as Honorary Consul - General, Mr. Charles Madi will be able to promote the friendship and partnership between Japan and The Gambia. The Japan collaborates intensively with The Gambia across a wide range of spheres, including Society, Economy, Health and Education. As Honorary Consul - General, Mr. Madi will work to support and strengthen these diverse partnerships between Japan and The Gambia. It should be noted that consular services (passports, citizenship, consular assistance...) will continue to be delivered by the Consular section of the Embassy of Japan in Dakar. This appointment marks one more step in strengthening friendship between Gambian and Japanese peoples.
