Handing-over ceremony of cold chain equipments (UNICEF Gambia) (16 May 2023)

 On 16th May, Handing-over ceremony of COVID-19 cold chain equipment within the framework of Japan’s Emergency Grant Aid was held in Banjul in the presence of Hon Dr Ahmadou Lamin Samateh, Hon. Minister of Health, Mr Gordon Jonathan Lewis, Country Representative of UNICEF Gambia Office, and HEMr IZAWA Osamu, Ambassador of Japan in The Gambia. Cold chain equipments such as vehicles, motorcycles, cold chain freezers were handed over to the Government of The Gambia.In order to overcome COVID-19, it is important to ensure and promote equitable access to vaccines throughout the world. Japan will continue to make its contributions in order to supply vaccines and strengthen the delivery and vaccination capacities including through “Last One Mile Support” and assistance via the COVAX Facility.
