Signing and Exchange of Notes Concerning Food Assistance to the Republic of The Gambia for Fiscal Year 2025 (January 27, 2026)

  

　On January 27, the signing and exchange of notes for Food Assistance for fiscal year 2025 (amounting to 200 million yen) took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad in Banjul. The documents were signed by Mr. AKAMATSU Takeshi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of The Gambia, and H.E. Mr. Sering Modou NJIE, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad.

　Japan has been continuously committed to improving food security in The Gambia, and this latest food assistance is being implemented as part of these ongoing efforts. Through this cooperation, the provision of Japanese government rice to individuals in need of food and nutritional support is expected to further enhance food security in The Gambia.
