Meeting of the Committee for the FY2023 Grant Aid for Food Assistance (KR) to The Gambia （March 17, 2026）

　On March 17, the Committee for the FY2023 Grant Aid for Food Assistance (KR) to The Gambia was convened.

　During the meeting, the Government of Japan and the Government of The Gambia discussed the distribution status of rice provided under Japan’s food assistance, the status of the counterpart fund accumulated from the proceeds of its sales, and plans for the fund’s future use.

　Japan’s food assistance not only supports the Gambian government’s efforts to ensure food security but also generates a counterpart fund, creating a dual benefit. This fund is utilized, based on consultations between the Governments of Japan and The Gambia, to support various projects in the social and economic development sectors.
