Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects in The Gambia: Signing Ceremony of the Grant Contract for the Project for supplying Medical equipment to the Sharab Medical Center (13th February 2018)

The signing ceremony of the grant contract under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) was held on 13th February 2018 at the Sharab Medical Center in Serrekunda. The GGP Grant Contract was signed by Mr. Daisuke ENOMOTO, Second Secretary of the Japanese Embassy to the Republic of The Gambia, and Dr. Abubacarr Jah, Medical Director of the Sharab Medical Center. The grant contract allows the Sharab Medical Center to receive 61,505 euros assigned to the purchase of medical equipment as a Chemiluminescence Immunoassay analyser, an Auto Hematology analyser, an Auto Chemistry analyser, etc. The project aims at securing improved access to essential non-communicable diseases diagnosis services, especially by enabling a variety of blood tests which will allow a timely and reliable medical treatment. After the completion of this project, not only the yearly 9,000 patients of the medical center, but also approximately 320,000 people in Kanifing Municipality and peripheral rural areas will be able to receive an accurate medical diagnosis and an efficient treatment.
